A love letter to the '80s Malta we all wish we could visit and the classics that captivated a generation, The Way Back is set in a time distorted version of history spanning the last 40 years.
As friends and family search for their missing mother, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving a top secret government experiment, a well trained hitman who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and an ever ticking clock counting down to them losing their mother forever.
Following the disappearance of their mom on September 31st, a boy and his rag-tag group of friends set out to unravel the strange truth about a failed 40 year-old government experiment, before the night is over and his mom is lost forever.
